Lions Club of Milton Keynes Central has donated£85 towards a table for the District 105A Senior Citizen Party . Fellow Lions, A big thank you to all the Lions and Leos from the 55 clubs involved in the biggest service activity of our District yesterday at Harrow Leisure Centre.  We were most fortunate to have good weather with no rain and some sunshine. Mrs PB is an elderly Wheelchair user with a state pension. Three years ago she applied for a trained disable help dog. This year she was allocated a dog. But the Dog trainers have requested for some improvement to Garden, They asked for a fenced off toilet area And also raise fences on the one side. So She had asked for assistance from Newport Pagnell and Olney club, Who forwarded this request to Our club, because Mrs. PB lives in our Town. Described by organisers as the Games with the biggest smile, the Special Olympics GB National Games in Bath saw 1,700 athletes with intellectual disabilities from across the UK come together to take part in a dozen sporting disciplines. Opening Ceremony – 28 Aug 2013 followed by three days of sport. This is the largest disability sports event of the year with FREE entry to the public – and Lions Clubs are playing a key role as ‘game makers’. Lions Girish Poojari, Akshay Shah and Les Westley from Milton Keynes Central Lions Club distributed leaflets and information to promote Medic Alert in the Asda Supermarket Store in Bletchley on Sunday 16th June. Medic Alert Headquarters are located in Central Milton Keynes. The Lions were there from 9.45 until 12.45 by which time they had distributed all the available promotional Medic Alert leaflets…… and some Lions leaflets. District 105a Music Competition 17th February 2013 – Christopher Percival Sponsored by Lions Club of Milton Keynes Central   competed in District 105a Mucsical Competition on this years’ Chosen musical instrument, the Piano. Christopher Percival was up against Hanna Slavin sponsored by the Lions Club Milton Keynes Stony Stratford and Wayne Chan sponsored by the Lions Club of Bletchley Milton Keynes .  The district final was held at Northwood College, in London on 17th February 2013. Lion Tatiana Pereverzeva -Birch have just finished her work with the Ukrainian doctors in Great Ormond Street Hospital for kids with leukaemia , she interpreted for them and stayed with them to support them for the other welcoming events, They don’t speak English, so she interpreted free of charge, and contributed to the charity projects. If they had hire the interpreter via agency, the day of work costs more than £350, so she saved a lot of money for this charity.
